HPV, better known as "Human Papillomavirus" is one of the most common sexually transmitted infections. HPV can be passed even when the person shows no signs or symptoms. There are several different types of HPV and here at Citizens for Citizens Family Planning. We offer a vaccine to prevent HPV types that cause most cervical cancers as well as some cancers of the anus, vulva (areas around the opening of the vagina), and oropharynx (back of throat including base of tongue and tonsils). The vaccine also prevents HPV types that cause most genital warts.

The vaccination protects up to 9 different strains of the virus. The vaccine is both safe and effective and is recommended to protect against cancers caused by HPV. The procedure is a total of 3 shots. The shot is not only for women! We encourage all genders to get vaccinated sooner rather than later.
